8 Household Electrical Hazards That Make Electricians Cringe

5) Handling appliances with wet hands: Appliances plugged near water and operating them with wet hands can damage them and cause injuries by electrical shocks to you too. It is wise to plug devices in the sockets and outlets away from the water where there is no chance of the appliances/devices getting wet.


6) Damaged outlets: When you notice smoke, flames, and blackening of the electrical outlet, it is an indication the outlets need an urgent replacement. Other signs include a strange burning smell, heating of the outlets, the flickering of the bulbs and frequent tripping of the circuit breaker.


7) Damaged appliances: Keep a check on all your electrical appliances. Malfunctioned electrical appliances of no-good quality and warranty can be as hazardous as the faulty wiring at your place. Get them repaired at your nearest electrical appliance repair shop.
